Metro Detroit HELP (MDH) is a support group for people with herpes and HPV. We offer support, information, understanding, and sharing of personal experience in a non-judgmental atmosphere. MDH, established in 1980, is a non-profit organization affiliated with the Herpes Resource Center, an American Social Health Association program.

If you have genital herpes, you are far from alone. Infection with Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2 (HSV2), the virus which is the most common cause of genital herpes, is a lot more common than you might think. Some estimates say that one in four people in the USA or 25 percent of the population is infected with HSV2. Please contact us and join us at our monthly meetings. We look forward to seeing you there.

American Social Health Association (ASHA) is a trusted, non-profit organization that has advocated on behalf of patients to help improve public health outcomes since 1914. We are America's authority for sexually transmitted disease information.

ASHA is recognized by the public, patients, providers, and policy makers for developing and delivering accurate, medically reliable information about STDs. Public and college health clinics across the United States order ASHA's educational pamphlets and books to give to clients and students. Community-based organizations depend on ASHA, too, to help communicate about risk, transmission, prevention, testing, and treatment.

  Motor City Friends

Motor City Friends (MCF) is a very active social group in the Metro Detroit area for people with HSV and HPV. Their mission is to provide a safe enviornment to make new friends, feel comfortable, socialize, and respect the diversity of people that are being brought together. MCF is not part of MDH but a separate and distinct organization. However, many people who attend MDH meetings and events also attend MCF events. MCF organizes all kinds of events including parties, dinners, and nights out. If you would like to attend an event please contact them at MotorCityFriends@yahoo.com.
